Gia Woods

Gia Woods is a Los Angeles–born, first-generation Persian-American lesbian artist crafting a fearless vision of pop—one that fuses dance-floor energy, rock attitude, and deeply personal storytelling. Her music moves fluidly between euphoric anthems and intimate confessionals, often rooted in the experience of growing up queer in LA within a traditional Persian household.

Woods first captured global attention by coming out publicly through her viral music video “Only A Girl,” a bold cultural moment that established her as a defining voice for a new generation of LGBTQ+ artists unafraid to turn identity into art. Her emotionally charged songwriting and striking visual aesthetic have earned over 150 million streams, a devoted cult following, and critical recognition from Paper Magazine, Billboard, Rolling Stone, and more, where she has been praised as a “rising pop sensation.” Career highlights include her first-ever performance at LA Pride for over 4,000 fans and the continued success of “Only A Girl,” which has surpassed 10 million views on YouTube.

Woods’ debut EP Cut Season marked a defining arrival. Written in the aftermath of a four-year relationship and the sudden loss of her father, the project explored heartbreak, self-sabotage, and emotional release across eight raw, unfiltered tracks. Her evolving era, Heartbreak County, expands that vision into a cinematic portrait of Los Angeles—the city of dreams, desire, and disillusionment—told through bold pop anthems and vulnerable reflections.

On stage, Woods is a commanding multi-hyphenate performer—singing, writing, and playing electric guitar and piano while delivering full pop choreography in a high-energy live show that fuses pop spectacle with raw rock intensity. As a co-producer and performer, she channels the movement of Britney, the vocals of Gwen, and the audacity of Madonna, filtered through a dark, modern rock-star edge uniquely her own.

Over the past year, Gia has been quietly crafting her most confident and fully realized body of work to date—music that captures the sound and identity she has always envisioned. Subtly weaving Persian influences into modern pop production, the project spans multiple genres while remaining cohesive and undeniable: a collection of superstar-level pop songs designed to connect deeply and claim their place at the top of the charts.

Above all, Gia Woods is building the representation she never had growing up—creating space where queer voices and first-generation stories are unapologetically seen, heard, and celebrated.
