Drew G

Drew G

DJ Drew G is a pioneer of modern queer nightlife and the force behind Dirty Pop — the longest-running consistent pop party in the world. Known for his genre-blending, emotionally charged sets, Drew G fuses pop, EDM, tech house, and mashups into a signature sound that’s earned him a global following and a reputation for redefining what a gay club DJ can be.

With over 20 years of nonstop weekends behind the decks, Drew G is the world’s #1 gay club DJ; not circuit, club. From Pride main-stages to international tours, he’s performed across major cities like Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Toronto, Sydney and played high-profile events including World Pride, White Party and One Magical Weekend. He holds historic residencies across the U.S. and internationally including Dallas Eagle, Rich’s San Diego and the Big Gay Cruise.

Starting as a death metal guitarist, Drew G’s career took off after advice from Eddie Van Halen inspired him to create his own sound. That vision eventually birthed Dirty Pop.

Drew G was also a digital DJing pioneer, building his first controller from RadioShack parts before such gear was mainstream. His unconventional style earned both praise and skepticism but ultimately helped reshape the sound of queer nightlife.

An official remixer for Madonna, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and more, Drew G’s remix style rejects conformity in favor of drama and storytelling. First managed by the late Orlando Puerta, he honors their close bond in his work and writing.

Outside the booth, Drew G has been featured in Vogue (2025), DJ’d for President Barack Obama, and launched viral brand Stuff I Wish Dad Said. He also curates Textual Healing, a daily newsletter covering queer health, music, horror — with one mission: get Fangoria to notice.
